Soooooooo….i haven’t written a blog for a while but after receiving questions about where to and where not to go for Jamaica Restaurant Week 2012 I decided that I will be writing reviews after visiting my restaurants of choice.
Jamaica Restaurant Week 2012 spans over the week November 9 - 17 which spans three cities: Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. All restaurants are fitted into one of five categories : Epicurean, Delectable, Savory, Tasty and Nyam n Scram.
My current city is Kingston and for the first night of restaurant week, i visited The Terra Nova Hotel (Epicurean Category). The Terra Nova offered a four course meal - choice of an appetizer, soup, entree and dessert.
My selection - Appetizer : Seafood Thermidor which is a medley of seafood in a cream sauce with mushroom and cheese. Soup : i skipped on having the soup. Entree : Herb Crusted Pork Chops which was filled with a raisin stuffing and served with a cranberry ginger sauce, creamed potato and vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots). Dessert : Terra Tiramisu. A complimentary drink is given with this meal, you can choose from an appleton special mix OR an appleton genesis mix. I tried the appleton genesis mix which i loved and i indulged in my regular dinner favorite which was a glass of merlot.
The Terra Nova has never disappointed me over the years BUT I will use only tree phrases sum up my Restaurant Week 2012 experience with them…
- Excellent Portions
- Excellent Food
- Impeccable Service
